Noise Issue

Hey Jim . Its Rich in Florida. Put new cartridges in and under tank system working well. However, whenever water starts to turn on hear a loud hissing noise. My garage unit never does that. Also., getting ready to intsall high low system. Sump will drop 1/2-1" which will activate solenoid of controller which will turn water on. This is @.60 gallon. will this work. Will this correct my other problem of constant drip and flushing of cartridges. Or do I need to put whole thing on timer and let it fill 3 inches 2 times a day. If that is the case, the topp off system i bought would be a waste. A good solenoid on a timer would be just as good. However, would not have back up.

I was told to connect solenoid just before water goes thru RO membrane. Apparently RO water is to harsh for solenoiids.

What are your thoughts?

Rich can you spread your high low to make two to three gallons at a time? The hiss you hear may be air trapped in the system and the water will absorb that air in a day or two unless you have a leak which you would notice.

RO water can be corrosive to some solenoids place it like in the drawing.

No Jim. The Hissing sounds any time it turns ro system on. The topp off system I bought. Oceanus, will only allow up to 1" before it shuts off. Therefor only .60 gallon. May be I should look for something else. I am really getting annoyed at something that should be so simple. http://www.oceanussystems.com/products/poseidon.aspx

The oonly way to do this is with a digital timer, letting top off system come on 2x day.

I have no leak in system. Happens everytime hssing sound when unit is activated. Quite annoying.
