What type of algae is this?

And how do I get rid of it?

It is very tough and will not pull off of the rocks. I have tried. I even scrubbed the rocks with a stiff bristle brush with no luck.

yeh.. i find it nearly impossible to remove the small patch i have.. nothing so far i have eats. grows slow, but is very ugly

if you try and pull it out, use some tweezers and grab right at the rock where it grows, and try to pull out the whole piece plus the little bit of rock its attached to.
