Does anyone have a link to somewhere online that can sell me 18 gauge solid core wire rated to 600V? I know exactly what I want, but I cannot find it locally. Spent the best part of two days looking, local hardware stores dont have any, local electric supply place doesn't have any.

I can't even find anywhere online willing to sell me any. Has anyone bought any online? I'll buy 1000 feet if necessary, I'm just sick of looking.

Try McMaster-Carr Supply ( www.mcmaster.com ). Search for "hook-up wire". They have several types rated at 600V on page 744 of their online catalogue.

Freed - I don't know what kind of magic Home Depots and Lowes they have near you, but mine only has 14 gauge and larger, and the local radio shacks only have 18 gauge rated for 300V.
