I am currently setting up my sps only 180G 72'x24'x24 and I am picking up an icecap 660 today and wanted to know what lighting/bulb configuration is recommended. (these will be my supplements).

I currently have 3x 250MH 14k hamiltons on icecaps..

thank you ..

assuming you'll run 6ft bulbs, you can only run 2. personally, i'd get actinics. even when i ran 20k's, i still liked having the actinics on. they bring out a lot of fluorescence that MH's can't. if you want to whiten it up some, get some actinic whites or coralife 10k VHO's.

Is it easy to do t5's on the 660?

Is it easy to do t5's on the 660? yeah. icecaps will run NO's, VHO's, PC's or T5's.

why run 250 watt on a 180??...400 is better so you are not limited if you want to grow stonies... in my opinion...

with s 250's you'll be fine, especially with the t-5s.

afaik, t5 only go to 60", i would run blueplus bulbs and aquablue bulbs; a lot depends on where your overflow is, canopy, etc,

i think that the 660 will run four 4', but not sure how many 5'

i've grown stonies on the sand in 24" deep water (same as a 180) under 175's. 250's are more than enough for anything in a 24" deep tank. 400's aren't needed untill 36" deep or more. maybe 30", but they're definitely not needed with 24" deep. there's tons of tanks on this site that grow every type stony and clam with 250's.
