Hello everyone,

seems like no matter how much I try to raise my alk and ca levels to around 9dkh and 460ppm, they still come down and stay solid around 7dkh and 400ppm (magnesium 1300).

I drip kalk 24/7 and even when I raise the drip rate, my alk and ca don't change, although the pH rises (8.4max)

Should I let it be at 7dkh and 400pm or fight to raise both?

although these levels are NSW levels, I've seen most people target 9dkh and 460ppm.

Magnesium is at 1300, which is normal.

If everything is healthy and growing well I would not change a thing. Dont get caught up in numbers.

Everything is doing fine and healthy, but you know sometimes you think to yourself, "what if I did this and it grew A LOT better" :)

9 dKh is a good number but the ca should only be 420 give or take.

If increasing kalk is the only form of supplementation you've tried, you are experiencing first hand the problem with using kalk to raise ca/alk levels. It is a great "maintainer" but not really a useful supplement to raise levels. To do that I would add baking soda for the alk and a cacl supplement for the ca. Although again I'm not sure who's advice you're listening to about targeting high 400's.
