I'm looking into DIYing a 10G stand. I'll be using two 10G tanks. The main display and the sump/refuge. Can you guys help me out with the dimensions and the size of wood?

I'm about 5'10" and I don't want the tank to be lower than my stomach. I actually want it to be about chest high. I hate bending down to look at my tanks.

Can you guys help me out?

Thanks in advance.

For a basic 2 x 4 stand you can get some ideas from GARF

http://www.garf.org/

On the left side, scroll down to DIY pages and then open stand building. For a a 2 tank stand you would just need to add somemore cross members.

I would think a speaker stank would look sharp, even thought thats not DIY, just a idea.

I have a ?? for you. I am thinking of using "your" plan for a 50 gal (36 x18) I would like to do it without the center stiles.
You think that would still be stong enough? I could double up the the top rails if needed.

It would easily be strong enough. Just leave the default of 1 for the number of doors when you fill out the form.

I gues that should read "Number of Door Openings" instead of number of doors. I will make the change now...

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks, that is a nice calculator you made. You should try to get it added to the RC list of calculators.
