This tank hasn't seen water, so I'm wondering if I'll have problems once it does. On one side of the tank, the glass seems to be installed slightly un-square (hopefully the pic will define that word). At the top of the tank, the glass if flush, but at the bottom is sticks out about 1/8". The epoxy came out of the groove so I cut it off.
If you are facing the tank, the side piece looks like this:

This picture is the tank on its end, so tilt your head sideways to get the actual view.

Is this normal?
If I fill it with water and it holds can I assume it will hold indefinately?

Normal? I would say no. Would there be a problem? I wouldn't want to find out. You should call up the place you got it and tell them that you want an exchange.

That tank would not sell as a new tank but a "second" the glass should be like the other 3 corners, flat and even with each other

Well...
How difficult is it to re-silicone one end of the tank?
What actually holds the glass together -- the silicone or the tank frame?

It is the silicone, the frame basically provide support for preventing excessive bending and bulging.

Even if it doesn't leak I wouldn't put anything like that in my house with 75 gallons of water in it.
Get in contact with a tank manufactor and see what their recomendations are.
If I had to come up with something myself and the seal apeared to be in real good shape I would...
add more silicone to the "un-squared outside" edge and get a plastic corner piece and silicone that to the outside.
Even then it would have to hold water for a month or two before it comes into the house!!!!

Yes 75 gallons of water on a carpeted or wood floor can really create a mess and a lot of damage not counting in potential short cirucits.

Get your money back, the hedache of dealing with a defective tank is not worth it... I went through it with an all glass and had to restar 8 month into it... not good!
