I am looking to buy a 225 gallon tank (70X24X30). Anyone have any recommendations for a vendor in or near NJ?

Thanks!

Here's a 220 with all the fixings... it isn't RR though.

brand new you can get them from petland. Their AGA tanks are cheaper than anywhere else.

I'll vouch for what fe342185 said. I've seen the price list for what most LFS pay for tanks through a distributor. The price Petland Discounts sells them for is less than the LFS cost! I know there's a store in Dover on Rt 10. right next to Kmart. There was one in Little Falls / West Paterson on Rt 46, west of Browertown rd., but I haven't been that way in some time. They'll give you a price right over the phone. I know you'll have to wait about a week for that size though.

Tropicquarium in Ocean, NJ. They sell all of their tanks at cost. I wish I knew that before I bought mine. Their theory is that if you get the tank there, you will need everything else afterwards. Kinda like the drug dealer gving you the needle for free. Actually not a bad analogy since this is an addiction.

Thanks guys!

One additional question though. Will any of these folks customize the over flows? I am looking to have an overflow on both sides of the tank.

Are you getting an AGA tank? They have the Mega Flow inside overflow. Should be one on each side for that size tank.
What are you looking for exactly to do? I may be going to Tropicquarium tonight and I can ask the question if you want.

You guys are a great help. Ken I appreciate your willingness!

I am looking for a 225 gallon glass tank.
70LX24WX30H with overflows on both sides from front to back. Essentially making the viewing surface of the front of the tank 5' (6" overflows on both sides).
I would also like to get the tank drilled for close loops.

Just want to add that petland did an in house delivery for $50. Mine went to the third floor so it was well worth it.

fe342185,
I don't know your name. I live in NJ but grew up in S.I. Where are you in S.I.?

If you are willing to take a drive Aquarium Discount in Marlton. Got my 180 AGA over $100 cheaper than Trop.

I would suggest trying the new store that just opened up on St. George Ave in Aveniel- Woodbridge area. They gave me a quote on a 120 stand that was 10 dollars cheaper then Aquarium Discount in Marlton. They are new store and trying to make a name for them selves.

I went to Tropicquarium. The had a 225g Perfecto tank with the layout you described. The price was $835.99. I don't know if that is a good price or not.
