I just purchased an already established 90g tank that has a chocolate chip starfish in it and wondering if they are safe for reef tanks as this is what I want to set up.It also has 2 or 3 different types of clown fish in the tank and wondering if they need to be seperated or removed altogether since I know very little about them other than they came with the tank.thanks

clowns dont travel far from the site they host in... are they fighting? if not you might be ok. they can get pretty aggressive towards oneanother though. mostly when they are big. 5-6 inches

Chocolate chip starfish will eat corals.
Depending on the type of the clownfishes, you might need to separate them. Can you provide the species, or pictures? LiveAquaria.com has pictures of a fairly wide range of clowns.

It looks like one is a tomato clown, the others seem lighter colored but to be honest I don't have the tank until sunday. Also any tips on transporting the sealife when I move the tank? Its 90g. theres 4 clowns, 2 starfish, 2 hermit crabs and a green wolf eel.Im guessing I need to get some rubbermaid containers with walmart airators for the ride home ( 1.5 hour drive). thanks for any tips

If you have some styrofoam boxes, they'll help keeping the temperature up. Also, keeping the live rock in water might be useful.
