I am trying to decide whether to upgrade my Octopus NW-200 skimmer to a larger recirculating version or maybe a BubbleMaster BM200 or add a second skimmer...

The NW-200 is really doing a good job of getting nasty skimmate out especially after modding it a little.
Would it be worth it to pay $450-600 for a recirc or BM200 or just add a second one?

The other skimmer would be a Nautilus TE skimmer I used to use. It is venturi based, but it did a pretty good job when I used it. It's rated for a high gallon capacity, but obviously, it would just be supplementing this time.

I would go with the bubblemaster, Just wait a bit to see if your interests are there and you are sure you want it.

So one large skimmer is better than two smaller skimmers?

If your skimmer is doing great, no need to change anything...

I just thought by asking that the skimmer was undersized.
Ucan is right if its working good and you get the results you want then no need to replace.

The Bm's are new, i own one and the short time i have had it i love it, I have had euroreef, asm, MRC and thisnew skimmer i believe is my last. Its still a new product, and i was willing to take a chance on it. But its paying off right now.
Unless the BM external woo's me over i may jump. LOL

You can run 2 skimmers just fine, But if i was going to buy another new skimmer i would think about selling the one ya have and get the BM150-200. JMHO

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I mean the Octopus is doing well.
I already have the second skimmer, so I figured it was an economical choice to just use it together with the Octopus.

Definitely the BMs look promising..

If you can setup both, go for it. It wouldn't hurt in your case and no $ spent.
