Okay,
So I have gotten some suggestions. I need a very Quiet pump on my closed loop. Bought the QO 5000 and it sounds like an airplane!!!! This is a 40 gallon breeder with a 29 gallon sump/fuge. Will house LPS, SPS, and Clams. Main Display Fish is a Mandarin. Now, I was told a Pan World Pump is one of the quietest pumps for this. The most quiet was the Poseidon, but it would add about 8 degrees to my tank. So people, I need your help. Anyone have a Pan World Pump? How Quiet Are they? I was thinking of the one that pumps 1100 GPH. I have a Quiet One 3000 for my return which I say is probably pumping 650 GPH. I was also told Ehiem but it only pumps 900 GPH and I was told it most likely wouldn't be enough flow for SPS and LPS. Can you help?

I have 3 on my system right now. I like them and they are pretty quiet.

The quietest pumps there are bar none is the Poseidon Series. The T4 is rated at 1225 gph so at a 4 foot head and through in a few elbows you are in your 1100gph range.

I have used them for years you can not hear them run!

I have a T4 on a 65 and it rocks the tank. $159 from marine Depot you can check the specks you'll not find one with less dbs. http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium...don.asp?CartId=

that's true, but the t4 that MD sells has hose barbs only, so you'd have to use flex pvc. i prefer that, but i'm not a fan of barbs.

you'd have to dig up a velcoity t4 (same pump but with screw fittings)

I'd have to use spa flex then huh? How the heck would I go about planning that? I've have to redo my entire closed loop huh? How many degrees do you think the Posiedon would add to my tank?

check Home Depot for barb/thread fitting, then thread/slip schedule 40 fitting. This will let you use flexible tubing and pvc plumbing interchangeably.

I have a 100PX-X on a closed loop and I hate it. I have to restrict the output by nearly 50% or else it cavitates like mad. It is plumbed properly. Ive tried numerous times to contact someone about it, and always get sent to a voice mailbox and never get a reply. I will never buy a Panworld again.

The T4 I used as a loaner pump while I was waiting on my PanWorld ps200 was very quiet, but it didnt have barbed fittings, they were both 3/4" threaded

the P4 pump now has barb fittings. What size tank did you use it on? I see you have a 75 gallon tank, but I'd like to know what one you used it on. How much heat did it transfer to your tank? Okay, now I don't want a panworld! ahhhhh!!!! I don't know what to do now.

I have a panworld 100PX-X and at first it was SOOO loud. Ended up the screws i used to hold it down just helped the sound resonate throughout the stand. Removed the screws and now its pretty quiet. With the TV off and i can hear it, but just barely. There is a mod to help quiet the hum it gives off. But truthfully its barely audible with the stands doors closed.
