Someone was mentioning using borax paste to kill Aiptasia, and I was a bit worried about adding borate to the tank. Is that an issue, or am I worred about nothing?

Can't vouch for aptasia but does a great job as a carpet cleaner....

Do you mean carpet as in homes or carpet as in anemones? :)

Well besides peppermint shrimp eating aptasia I have heard injecting them with bionic #1 alkalinty is suppose to kill them.

floor carpets. But I'm sure could do a good bleach job on the other kind too.....

I fought those little devils with Kalk paste over and over. I think it made them worse by releasing small frags of them and then they multiplied. I then got 2 Peppermint shrimp and they were gone in a few weeks. They have not come back!

you need to, if you can remove the rock for about 2 minutes with the paste on no more than enough to cover thr crack where its attached. i rinsed it with a syringe of tank water with a papertowel rolled like a tiny donut to catch any run-off. which has never happened, it stays where its put. that is an exellent point though Jonathon. the only thing i could think of is virtually undetectable raise in pH and Alk.
