I am getting ready to make a custom cube tank. My only question is when I get the glass cut at the shop, do I need to have the endges polished or can I leave them? I have been searching and can't find the answer to this. Thank you very much, my new tank will thank you for your answers!
Matt

You should at least have them sand the edges so that you do lose any blood over the project. Polishing the edges will just make the tank look better.

I nice bevel would look good too on the outside corners.

Make sure you let the glass place to have exact cuts..
Some place will consider anything within 1/4 of an inch in Spec.

You should definitely have the edges polished. Polishing the edges adds a considerable amount of strength to the glass believe it or not. And Kamla is right that you need to let them know it needs to be exact, with 1/4" glass usually 1/8" +/- is the industry tolerance.
