Wow, that is funny!

Now, does that top corner normally low lit? I've read that thorny oysters don't llike to get hit with too much light.

I've been wanting to get one, but can't find a whole lot of literature on them. Could you share some of your views and experience?

They are really cool but its a good idea so stay away from them.. they dont fair well in reef aquariums. They arent photosynthetic and rely completely on supplemental feedings and detritus. Unless you have a very large system I wouldnt get one. Trust me.. I made the mistake

the only reason i thought i would try a thorny oyster is the size of my system. he is under 250 MH lights but seems happy there. i actually think he is happier with the anemone on top of him.

i have only natural filtration with two large protein skimmers in the sump coming off the refusium. i dont supplemental feed except for cyclopeze once few weeks.
