I just found these eggs tonight, although they look 3 days old. They are from a pair that was born in February 2005. I think this is their first nest. It's a small nest, but pretty exciting because I raised these fish and now they are parents themselves :D

Their parents laid another nest tonight as well (yes, these fish are siblings; I'm not thrilled about that, but I wanted to keep a pair of offspring for myself and this kinda happened  )

One generation of inbreeding shouldn't be too awful bad. ;)

Isn't TN known for its inbreds??? LMAO ;) I can say that since we both live here now...

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I'm happy to report that the babies from this pair look pretty normal. I've raised 2 nests from them now (well, the first nest ended up being only a few fish; 2nd was much better)...so far so good. I bought their parents as ORA TB, so I guess there is a slight possiblity that they could be siblings as well, although I did buy them 2 years apart :)

Maybe I have to do this a few more times before they start singing "Rocky Top," huh Randy? :wildone:

Pretty remote possibility the parents are siblings if they are ORA bought two years apart. :) I also think that a sibling pairing shouldnt yield too much trouble the first time around. Watch out for interesting abnormalities around the fourth or fifth line breeding attempt. Thats when things usually fell apart for me with cichlids. Though.. that doesnt really say much other than they were other fish!

Very nice looks clowns by the way.
