Blue maxima slime

About two weeks ago I accidentally wacked my blue maxima with my mag float and its byssal strings became unattached. I dont know if they ripped out of him or ripped off of the glass bottom. I prompty replaced him farther away from the glass. He seems happy now but hes been secreting a clear jelly around his base. What could this be?

best thing is to leave him alone, if he is healthy, he should recover in no time :)
