it will be in sump. budget isnt much of a concern. i just want to make sure i get something that will last. i have plenty of room so size isnt an issue either. thanks

Since you are in Richmond, check out Atlantis Aquariums. They carry Deltec among others.

I rececently went up to a 125 from a 55. LFS recomended a Tunze DOC 9010. I am very satisfied with it's performance, low noise level and multple methods of mounting/placing it. I have it in my sump. Main reason I went this this, is it has a small foot print and I had limited room.

H&S 200-1260, you can get them at finsreef.com. They are a very high quality skimmer and should handle the load of your new tank.

If you bioload and feedings is not extra heavy, H&S A150 will be more than adequate for your new system. If you plan on extremely heavy bioloads, then go up a skimmer to Deltec AP851 or H&S A200-1260.

welcome to reef central!! if cost is not a big issue go with the deltec 851 or 702, it will be the last skimmer you ever buy and they are world renouned for there proformance. i also live in richmond so if i can help with anything please let me know. also take UCanDoIt's advice talk to marvin at atlantis aquariums he carries deltec and runs them on all of his tanks. if you would like to see some good pictures go to the deltec sponsor forum and check out the deltec tank thread! if you don't mind me asking how are you going to dose cal. alk.? what type/watt lights are you going to use? what do you plan to keep in the tank fish only, sps, lps ect.?

thanks for the reply i was just at atlantis ckecking out what they had to offer. i think i am going to go with the deltec. i plan on running 3 175 mh, and 4 vho. im still up in the air on how i want to go about the dosing. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i think im going to lean towards mainly sps on this tank. who knows though i guess ill just have to wait and see.

Great choice. Marvin is one of my favorite dealers next to my local dealer. :)

Deltec skimmers are great, but I have found that the construction of the H&S skimmers are superior to that of Deltec. If you are going to be using the skimmer in sump than you can also save a couple hundred dollars by going with a H&S in sump model.
