It is a flavor inhancer mainly. Some think garlic helps strengthen a fishes immune system to help them better fight off disease. It will not cure ich.

thanx, Billybeau1. but do you think it is capable of doing the others? i think its help prevent ick on the lable i cant remember.

I'm looking at a bottle right now and it makes no mention of ich. I do believe it is good to soak food in garlic a few times a week.

maybe it was the LFS or somewhere i heard it. does it benifit in the other two? immune and fight off disease?

Its all in the verbage. It strengthens a fishes immune system to allow the fish to fight off disease better. The fishes immune system does the work. The garlic just helps stenghten the ability to fight off disease.

I'm not a fan of relying on garlic to cure fish diseases, but some folks try it, and some of them see success, although whether they'd see success not adding it is unclear to me.
