Please help me ID whats growing in my tank. Sorry about the quality of the pics - they are pretty blurry. I left my camera on the boat and I think the salt spray has the lens yucky. I tried to clean it, but no luck.

I believe this maybe Aiptasia, but not sure (in the first pic). It is clear with white specs and the mouth is brownish colored. I noticed this one so I bought two peppermint shrimp and they never got near it the I saw. I believe my brittle star ate the shrimp because they disappeared without a trace (my first fatality). Now there are two of them. [/IMG]

The next pictures are of what I was told was zoathids when I bought them at my local LFS. I'm afraid they maybe Majanos. There were two different types of ? on the rock. One has bright green tips on a pickish-red/brown base, the other is almost the reverse with bright green base and mouths and a pinkish-red/brown tenticles. They range in size from a dime to quarter and close up in the dark.[IMG]http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/138528PB190333.JPG http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/138528PB190334.JPG

No, it doesn't look like that. Any idea what mine are?
Thanks!

Do they retract when you go near them? Do they come from a tube? If so, I'd say feather dusters. But the picture is badly blurred :(

well my guess was maybe some sort of zoa or polyp..

Are they round with shorter arms than that picture above? If so maybe its a palythoa coral?

Looks like paly's but you will need to get a much clearer picture.

Looks like zooanthids to me

theatrus - They don't retract unless it's dark and then they close. They do catch some of the fish food and pull it into the mouths like the anemones do.

I'll try to get better pics tomorrow.
Thanks everyone.

t5Nitro - yes, almost perfectly round and arms are shorter than sir dudeguys' pic above, but longer than on my other zoas - which are very small (about the size of a pencil eraser).
Thanks!

ya it could be either paly's or mojanos. I hear that mojanos are somewhat like aptasia, but there are also a lot of mojanos that look really cool. There is a local guy (and bet he's not the only one) that has a mojano tank. Really cool colors and everything...just bad w/other corals i guess :)

i had alittle trouble with aptasia so i did not want to take any chances with that i think they look better though
