Sorry if this has already been asked but I didn't see it on here. I just bought 2 250 retro kits from Marine Depot. They sent this huge wire for the AC plug, first of all do I need to use that or can I use 3 strands of wire like on a 660 ballast? Second, the wire ring on the ground (green/yellow strand) what do I need to connect that too? I am making my own wooden hood so other than the reflector or ballast itself it wont be close to any other metal.
Thanks
Joe

You can wire your own power cord if you prefer. Use the black, green and white wire from the ballast and splice in the cord or just add wires and a heavy duty 3 prong plug. The green wire with the eyelet, just cut off the eyelet as it is the power ground. Wire that to the cord along with the black & white.
