I got a yellow tang about a week ago and it appeared healthy but very scared. Over the holiday weekend I was gone and when I returned it noticed one of his eyes has a bubble on the top of it and the eye is swollen. He appears healthy and is still not eating my food but is grazing at the algea.

This is the only fish in the tank, however there are snails, crabs, corals, and live rock. Should I treat it or should I just see how he does? If so with what? I bought some stuff called API Melafix, is this any good? Is it safe for the reef?

I would use an antibiotic food instead of the MelaFix.

Some manufacturers make foods specifically with antibiotics added. If you can find one of those, use it. If you have to make your own, I would use a furan-based antibiotic and mix it into some defrosted frozen food.
