forgive me if this has already been brought up or if this is just propaganda by their company to sell a different product.

I was trying to source some mag flake locally for our club and I called one of the suggested links. When i called the Melt snow people to ask if they knew of a local distributor the very first question they asked was , "is this for your aquarium ?" He then told me that this is absolutely not safe for aquarium use and the people on the Internet are spreading falsehoods . We will know it when someones "cichlids" tank all dies .... I told him i would like to find a distributor anyways and he nicely told me that he wont share that information with anyone looking to use it for aquarium use. He then told me that i needed to talk to a guy at their NY division that can get the low ammonia version that is made for aquarium salt . Matt 212-697-4994 . When i called him he conformed what the other guy side (minus the cichlids part) and he is happy to get it for you if you want to purchase 20 tons of it.

Again forgive me if this is just their attempt to sell a more expensive product or restrict sales to certain vendors but i thought the experience was worth sharing .

They have formulated that as a stock response. They know nothing about our uses.

I discuss their comments in this thread:

thanks . i kinda figured that . his response about the cichlids really showed he didn't have a real clue what he was talking about.
