I'm going to be ordering new lighting for my tank from Hellolights, and have a question to ask about the wiring on the retrofit.
http://www.hellolights.com/15hlmhrekith.html#
It's a 150 watt retro, with ballast.
It says, "* Caution: This retrofit/ballast kit must be housed in an area free of moisture, behind glass. Make sure the bulb(s) and socket(s) are sealed off from any moisture, humidity or evaporation when mounted over your aquarium. Mount ballast(s) away from moisture, humidity or evaporation. Failure to do so will void any and all warranty, and could be a potential hazard."
Which I completely understand. I know its behind the UV glass, but it says no evaporation... how can it be mounted to light water, and not be exposed to evaporation?
I am planning on making all wire connections outside the canopy in a sealed junction box, but what about where the wires connect to the endcaps?
I plan on having two 3" fans, one 4" fan and maybe two 1" fans blowing air out at all different points to get good airflow, which will also help move the moist air out of the canopy.
So basically, how can I mount it and not void the warranty?
Also, are there any deals coming up soon, liek discounts, or is there a discount i can get by being an RC member?
Thanks,
~Mike
