hi all,

what is your opinion of continuous water changes ie water is constantly being recycled at a rate of 10 gallons per day? is this more beneficial than a monthly water change?

is there an article somewhere regarding written by randy regarding this?

thanks

Yes, that covers it. I change 1% of the tank volume each day that way. It is not really continuous, but runs about 2 h per day with an automatic in/out pump.

hi randy, what pump are you using to accomplish this? I was looking more for something that would automatically perform this daily. the two I am looking at are the reef filler 2000 and the spectrapure litremetre III.

I use a dual head Reef Filler (30 gallons per day) run for about 1 hour each day.

thanks. i read that the noise emitted from the reef filler is akin to a can opener on mute. is this your experience also?

It is fairly noisy, yes. Best suited for a basement or a garage, not under a tank in the living room. :)
