I just bought a finger leather yesterday and it has two smaller "babies" attached to the same rock. What is the best way to get these onto another rock for grow out. How should i cut them off?

Thanks,
Chris

You can use a sharp scalpel or knife to cut them off. Or you could use sharp scissors.

When you cut the frag off you can use a tooth pick and spear the frag onto a new piece of rock. It will take a few days or up to a week to attach after that.

or fill a cup with gravel and put it in the tank. put the frags in the cup and in a week the base will attach to the gravel. you can then superglue the gravel coated bottom to a larger rock.

once its cut just position it in a spot, or kind of pin it in with another rock so that the current wont blow it around and it should attach within a few days, thats how i do mine

That gravel idea does sound pretty cool. Let me know if you try that and it works out for you.

Instead of using gravel, use shells. Once there are back in the tank they might get used by a crab. Then you will have mobile softies!

That would be hillarious. I have a Devil's hand that shed like crazy awhile ago I can just see a bunch of those running around....

Yeah, I have seen little Xena hands running around, pretty funny.

thanks guys, my point I was trying to get at is it doesnt matter if I cut the leather leaving a small piece of skin on the mother rock, it will be ok right?

Thanks again,
Chris
