hi guys in the new year i want to build a ply wood tank , fiberglass line it ,
i live in uk nd have a 6x2x2 tank at present , but i feel it is very limiting depth wize and due to where it is kept to awkward to reach left hand 2 feet of tank , , so i want to build a 4x4x2 , ie 4 foot long 4 foot deep , and 2 foot from front to back ,
will this be possible with a ply tank? also what thickness of glass or acyrilic should i use? some folks hear recon for 4 feet depth i will need 25mm glass or acrylic , is there any chance 20 mm will do if glass is toughened , or would acrylic be the better option all round? i will post pics of the project as i get going , any advice on how think fiberglass should be etc for this tank greatly appreciated!

Nice animals you've got there jaggy!

Here's a link to my plywood thread that contains links to other larger plywood tanks that may help you out with construction techniques.

As for the 4' tall glass panel, I'm not sure what to think there. You might be able to get away with 20 mm toughened but but there will be a lot of pressure on a tank that tall. Here's a link to an article that contains some engineering formulas that might help you decide what's best.

Good luck!
