What the heck?I jus saw the freakiest weirdest thing.One of my blue leg hermits either pulled itself out of its shell or something took it out of its shell and now its dead?What the heck happened?Theres nothing in my tank to that can pull it out of it shell.Im uploading pics right now.

The crabs shed their exoskeleton as they grow. You will see it a lot. All crustaceans do it too so if you have shrimp dont be alarmed if you see their ''molt'' on the bottom either.

oh ok.so its still alive? its gettin blown around the tank though.what should i do?

its def. a molt i had one im my refugium do it and i watched. the molt in my tank disappeared (i assume was eaten by scavangers) in a day

First time I saw a molt it was from my new Electric Blue in my new, and first, tank.

I freaked out. Thought it was dead, then it reappeared a few days later happy and healthy. It has molted several times since and the molts always seem to go "somewhere". He has been with me now for over 2 years.

molts always freak you out the first time. and the thread is always like this one, i did the same thing once too!
