Ok. so i sifted through many of the articles in the stickies for this forum and found many interesting readings. I'll start off with information on my tank and then express my needs. I have a 90gal tank with 29 gal sump. I have approximately 105gallons of water in this system at all times. It's a mixed reef with mostly mushrooms and zoanthids. I've found that many of my corals don't grow very much. And i know there can be many factors for this but mainly i know that it is caused by a lack of suppliments and unstable conditions. I've been increasing my husbandry and with that i'd like to know some of the things that i can add to my tank and how to dose it. I prefer non-drip methods. Things that can be added in daily top off water would be best but If needed i can create a drip line. Now with that being said. I'd like to know more about creating lime water and other such homemade additives that will supply my tank with the nutrients it needs to grow.

Those two article discuss a DIY 2-part calcium-alkalinity supplement and limewater. Limewater can be dosed as topoff, but the 2-parts can't be combined in fresh water. You could dose one of them in the topoff and one by hand.

What are the alkalinity and calcium levels?

Both are much lower then they need to be. I'm sure of it since I don't dose anything right now. My pH is usually just under 8.4 if not 8.4 at mid-light cycle.

Okay, the supplement given should help. You might also want to check magnesium from time to time.
