View Full Version : MH bulb melted brace!

I just noticed that my 175w hqi bulb melted the center brace in my 37 gallon. Can I take off the brace? My 29 didn't have one, the 37 is just a few inches higher. I wonder if it'll make a difference not to have one.

btw the canopy is about 4" from the brace.

well search worked for free.. briefly. I guess it's 50yes/50no on what I can do with the brace. I wonder if something like this will work for me..

i'd do it with tempered glass tho. to help block the uv from the hqi.

Was the bulb directly over the brace?
