i have always fed mine 1x per day, latly i moved her and her new boyfriend into the Q-tank and feed 5-8x per day. i feed small amounts each time and am trying to fatten up the new male. i got the male and he was half starved.

2x is more than enough and is usually not necessary unless you are inducing breeding behavior. Mine spawn regularly on 2x week feedings, though I don't necessarily suggest that low of a frequency. 1x per day or every other day is reasonable. Be sure to include plenty of algae in their diet.

i feed my 2x a day and i find out the graw quick , less aggression in the tank , and very healthy .

you will need a good filtration to keep out the detritus and to control on low nitrate and phosphate.
