Beautiful specimen, too rich for my blood. Hard to tell from the pics if its Gigantea or Haddoni.

s. gigantea imho.
A little short on the tentacles, but from the way its folded up like that is typical for gigantea ime.
We'll see what everyone else thinks.
fwiw..

Really impossible to ID 100% IMO from that pic, but indeed based on the folds, there's a chance it could be S. gigantea. But I wouldn't call it a slam-dunk ID.

I don't see that pic anywhere on their site though? Was it part of a newsletter email or something?

I thinks its a gigantia due to the blunt pointy tntacles as opposed to globose in s haddoni.

First of all it is a tough call from those pics.
It is not unusual for haddoni to fold like that when introduced into a new tank.
The tentacles look too dense for it to be gigantea.
On the other hand the color is more of a gigantea color than a haddoni color.
I don't think it matters anymore.
I have a feeling in was in the Diver's Den and it not there now, which means someone else already bought it.
I am curious about the price though.
Did LA have a species name on it? They are usually pretty good about that.

They had S. Gigantea on it and price was $299.00. Sure was nice looking.

Interesting. It is hard to get a good ID on this one, but at first glance, I lean toward S. haddoni rather than S. gigantea for basically the same reasons phender pointed out.

I can't tell. Just need more view of it (the column) or a picture of it in the tank after a week or two.

I don't recall them having it labeled haddoni or gigantea, only carpet anemone and the price of $299.
Why can't these beauties be a "dime a dozen" like condylactis?:)

Yes, they had it listed as S. Gigantea. I went back in my browser history and pulled up the page after I saw phender's post. After I refreshed that page it disappeared.

I am sure they got sonofgaladriel to thank for selling that anemone. bring it up here is lots of exposure to anemone lovers. Whovever buy that beauty, I hope it live and he/she post it here for us all to see.
