Hello,
I just got a pair of new cinnamon clowns A. Melanopus and everyone arived safely. I did a slow acclimation period (drip). Afterwich the pair examined the tank (hospital not main tank) and everthing was ok woke up the next day to find that the femal had apparently gotten starteled at something during the night and had a piece of gravel stuck to her eye. after a couple of hours its fallen off but she has responded to the whole issue with a very nasty slime coat over the eye. this morning the eye has distended and the slime coat is still there. Is there anything I can do?

I would add either melafix or marcyn.
Keep it QT'd until gone.

I have added furan2 to the tank (yesterday) the poped porton of the eye has gone down however the mucus on the eye has actually gotten thicker and yes they are qt'd. is there that much of a difference between furan2 and marcyn?

I'm not familiar with furan2, but if that's what you started you may want to finish out with that.
Was that recommended by LFS?
Maybe someone else can chime in with exp. on that stuff.
If the eye got smaller that's a good sign.
