Can I peel off the leaves on my mangroves?

I usually just wait until they fall off on their own. Then again I've only had two fall off - the first set. Why would you want to take leaves off?

They keep falling into the water, wanted to stick them in styrofom again, till the roots can hold them upright. But the leaves are to big to stick through

Perhaps you can make the necessary sized hole in the styro, and then cut a straight line towards the hole. Work the propagule through that incision, and pop it into place in the hole. Then you may not have to strip it of the leaves (which would be a pretty stressful event I would think.)

The styro will have to be a bit flexible though to do this, so it may take a little finesse. ;)

tried that last night, but the styro just broke apart, maybe I'll try something else

Could you cut out a section towards a central hole, place the mangrove, and then glue the section back in?

There's got to be a way.
