They grow quickly. Mine went from 8 inches to over 20 in 2 years.

If kept at warmer temperatures and fed well, expect them to grow quickly. Pecil size to 24" in 24 to 30 months is not uncommon.

Feeding less often can help, but if they are housed with other fish, they may eat their tankmates.
