I am picking up a 400 gallon cube this up coming weekend and it has 2 55k MH's and 4 VHO's for actinic. I am going to change the MH light to 10k and I am wondering if power compacts would be better then the VHO's? Also there is a ASM G3 for a skimmer is that good enough for this size tank? I am going to add a fuge also beceause I am going to run it as a reef setup. Is there any other eqiupment I should look in to buying that would help with keeping a healthly tank? Thanx

If I recall correctly, PC's are the weakest of the flourescent lights. I'd go for T5's. Check reefgeek.com for retro kits. A fuge is a great addition to a reef set up. As far as a fuge goes, larger is better.... If you want to keep SPS or calcium consuming hard corals, you'll end up researching and probably buying a calcium reactor. Dont know enough about the ASM skimmers to comment either way.

Keep the VHO for super actinics
