i'd say cleaner shrimps is a better choice versus cleaner fish. Most CF will die within 6 months due to their specific diet

Shrimp(s) without question.

The cleaner wrasse seems to have an appaling record of survival in tanks whereas shrimps seem incredibly hardy. They will also perform other clean-up duties, too...

the mortality rate and effectiveness of cleaner fish is a) poor and b) debateable to say the least. A cleaner shrimp is likely on the menu of most things it would theoretically clean.

If its an internal parasite treat with praziquantel and pipcine. Best way to dose is to soak the fish's food in the medication. Metronitizole is also a common and useful drug.

Pull the fish from the display tank, put in QT, treat with hyposalinity and/or copper (of course measured with same brand test kit) until it has been 30 days since last visible trace of ick.

Hope this helps....

PS hit up wetwebmedia and search their ick/marine parasite knowledge base.
