rinsing sand

What is the best method for rinsing sand to place in the bottom of your tank? I've got 5 bags to add to my tank and the first batch I rinsed seemed to take forever in a 5 gallon bucket to rinse with RO water.

people may disagree, but I don't rinse.

dump it in, let it settle. varrying sizes of sand grains is a GOOD thing.
