I have only had full reef set-ups. I want to set up a 150 gal FOWLR. Are there minimum lighting requirements for the fish to stay healthy?

Back in the old days when I first started all we had available was the flourescent light hood that usually came with the tank. I succesfully kept fish many years that way.
