I had reacently just started a SPS frag tank and I had bought a frag to see if I could handle it, but now a portion of the base is bleaching and the interior is begging to bleach. need some pointers.

first tell us the type of coral. Then we'll need lighting info, water parameters (nitrates/ammonia, salinity, temp, calcium, alkalinity), tank size, and any other pertanent info you may be holding.

The coral is a staghorn,70watt sunpod on a 10 gal,0 nitrates/ammonia, .23salinity, 79 deg, 430ppm calcium, and 8.3 alkalinity. I also have a maxijet 600 in the tank for circulation.

take your readings again. With a tank that small you may be having big fluctuations. This could be your problem. Also you could look over historical readings. It seems like it should be enough light. How long has the tank been setup for?
