Looking for opinions of the oceanic 144 gallon half circle reef ready aquarium. Mostly looking for opinions on the distortion the tank would have by having such a shape. Has anyone seen one filled? Is the distortion more than a bow front? Let me know what you think.

Well, if you want to drive to New Jersey....
Absolutely Fish on Rt. 46 in Clifton has one set up as a SPS sales/display tank. Looks very nice, IMHO, distortion is negligible. Less noticible than I thought it would be.They have some other great display only and sales/display tanks, so it's worth the trip.

I saw a display where they put two half circle tanks together to make a full circle. Very cool looking. I did not notice any distortion.

I've seen some at the aquarium and the bow didn't bother me. I personally like the corner bows more (but I'm a little biased :D ) mainly because of how it looks in a room. I like how the corner bows fill up an empty corner. I haven't seen a semi-circle in someone's room, so I'm not sure how it would look. I would imagine it looking pretty cool along an empty wall.

Maybe this thread (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=956555) will help you with your decision. I just happened to stumble upon it. :D

Ritten,

I saw the same type of setup. Judging by your avatar, was the display that you mentioned in Zion, Illinois?
