Any one else have this problem? I had a yellow tang and about a month later added a foxface. The tang began to constantly harass the foxface. 2 days before Thanksgiving he dissapeared.

2 weeks later I found the foxface in my overflow. I got him out and the tang immediatley went after him again. The next day I got the tang out and gave him to a friend with a larger tank. Everything is peaceful now.

I thought this was odd and no one I have talked to has ever heard of y. tangs and foxface problems

Actually, both grazing herbivores, both yellow...I'm not at all surprised, especially in a 75g.

probly confuses him as another invading yellow tang?

I had a tang and a foxface... never bothered and if anything bothered it the foxface would raise his spikes and other fish stop.

Had the same thing happen to me. I was very close to taking the Foxface back because I was worried about him being stressed, but a couple days later, they acted like they were joined at birth.

One of the, say, less knowledgable LFS here locally had a tank full of "Foxface Tangs" recently....so I guess they wouldn't be surprised by this behavior.

Wow... My tang and foxface have been the best of friends for about 2 years now. Never had any problems with aggression from either one... They swim side by side all day long!

I would never admit to keeping both a Yellow Tang and a Foxface in a small tank, but hypothetically, if I did, I bet they'd get along like twin sons of different mothers.

I think it would be better if the Foxface was in first and the YT added later.

my foxface and yellow tang have been together for 2 years, the yellow tang was first, then I purchased a larger sized foxface. They chased each other at first but now they swim, feed and sleep under the same piece of live rock
