Dumb me....I bought a beautiful small (tube about 1/2 the length of my middle finger) orange tube anem from LFS . My Banner fish was picking on it, helped it over to a niche in the rock to protect the tube part of the body, 15 minutes later it disappeared and I have'nt seen it in over a week. Looked everywhere for it.Think it will ever come back "out". Don't think it died, water quality perfect. Course the same guy that sold it to me told me anems don't BLEACH!!!!!I should have known better. :(

tube anemones don't require light, they feed mainly at night in the wild. they need to have the tube in the sand bed. so they can retract into it if being pestered
i have one and it opens every day around 6pm, about half an hour before i start feeding.
they take any thing meaty - mysis cockles etc

It may be inside your rockwork somewhere in the sand. They are mobile when they want to be.
