I think I have my rock where I want it so I haven't moved it since about 9:30 this morning. A couple hours later I noticed what appeared to be a tentacle coming from under one of my rocks. During the day more and have started to appear. Anyone know what this is?

its a type of anemone. i cant tell by the pic if its apstasia or not. if it were in my tank i would let it grow just enough to see which it was. Asptasia has long thin tentacles and usually brownish clear color. they spread like wildfire. lol! pepermint shrimp, work well if it is aps. (it appears to be aps.) hope for the best, let the shrimp eat the rest. LOL!

So, if it is Aiptasia, I can assume that it is bad and I probably don't want it in my tank. I just put the live rock in my tank and I am trying to get it to cycle, so I don't think I should put peppermint shrimp in there just yet. Or should I?

Thanks
Brad

looks like a rock anemone to me. hard to say 100% from those pics. they can be as much a pest as aiptasia. but i wouldnt worry about putting in a peppermint shrimp to eat it, since you tank hasnt cycled. hit it with some Joe's Juice, or any other aiptasia removal method if you dont want to keep it.
