The salinity in my tank some how got high. I have been topping of the tank every few days and when I do I match the salinity almost perfect. I have done 2 large water changes and also matched the salinity. Any ideas how it got high. I have made sure the new saltwater was mixed well.

For top off water you do not add salt. Only water changes. The water evaporates, but the salt is left behind.

When you top off, you don't top off with saltwater, only RO/DI or distilled. The water evaporates, not the salt. The way you state it, you are topping off with saltwater. Only top off with regular water....

Okay that explains it i had been topping off with saltwater. I was starting to think i was going to go through buckets and buckets of salt in no time at all. Whew thats a relief user errror. thanks for the help
