So I was just wondering does everyone leave their moon lights on all night or do you have them go off after several hours? I was thinking that even though the lighting is only blue that fish and what not would want a certain amount of complete darkness is this the case? I am just trying to figure out how I want to set up my LED moon lighting...

depends if their intention is for corals and the night life. if so, leave it on all night (thats that i do). if its just for your viewing purposes, yes a timer would be good as to conserve elecricity and LED life in the long run

I run mine all night long. If you check it out late at night, you may be surprised at the amount of activity in a mature tank at night

I have mine on a timer. when the main lights go off the moon lights turn on and when they come on in the morning the moonlights turn off.

My ML are not vary bright though. deffinatly not as bright as yours are. This is what i was aiming for.

I leave mine on all the time, LFS says the timer uses more electricity than the LEDS so just leave on 24/7. ???

interesting, I am not doing it for the electricity as all my LED Stuff on the tank runs on battery and is solar recharged it was more of a thought that the occupants of the tank might like a few hours of total darkness. Also the timers I use run on a battery and take no electricity to power, the batteries get replaced every 2 years whether they need it or not.

I run mine all the time---have for 2 yrs (mine are also very bright--20 blue on a 55--a little overkill-but not as bright as yours just more even)

On at 8 PM, off at midnight. I don't like sleeping with any kind of lights on, so I didn't think they would either.:D
