I have 2 out of 3 now that have gone bad and stopped keeping time within 6 months of the purchase. Is there any others out there that can offer the same features but will last longer?

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some timers from them.

I had the same problem, I went through 2 of those then just got cheaper and better outdoor timers from home depot

Hahaha, man I thought I was the only one. Why do they only last 6 months? That's nuts. No offense at all, but man, I'm glad at least I didn't buy 3. This must be one of the worste products on the market. I need to go to Home Depot and get better timers.

I bought the electronic digital Coralife timer, and the digital clock slowly looses time, but nothing crazy. I've had it on my nano for over a year now and no problems with anything. Everything worked just fine, except for a ballast blow-out a week ago, but I doubt that it's related to the timer. It's lost maybe half an hour in a year? Otherwise, I've had nothing but success.

Same here, I have two of those digital timers and they steadily lose time at about the same rate.

just another junk product u would think for that much money for a timer they would last mine topped out at like 3 months, just plain worthless!!!!!

someone in our local reef club lost there house to one of those timers.
My advice would be to get the digital timers. They keep good time and can be programed for complicated devices. They are also alot more accurate then the standard timer. Or you can just go out and splurge on a aqua controller :)

The best timers I have found are the Intermatic Digital Timers. Get them at Menards.

Sorry Red, but I had to use your location. I always liked "Behind the Cheddar Curtain".

I'll have to check Menards. I have about 6 timers & 3 outlet strips running things now, and it's not really what I had hoped for. I hoping to avoid an electrical fire. Hey, it's better behind The Cheddar Curtain! :D
