FWIW, those chart's are not reflecting number's you should actually strive for in a reef tank. Rather they just extrapolate on the fact that 1 meq/l of alkalinity is used for every 20 ppm calcium during calcification.

I recommend 380-450 ppm for calcium and independently, 2.5-4 meq/L (7-11 dKH).
