Hi,

In preparation for adding SPS corals to my tank, would I be better off spending money on a Tunze Wavemaker (I already own a Wavy Sea attached to a MaxiJet 1200) or adding a few Tunze powerheads to my tank instead?

If the vote is for powerheads, any suggestions on where to mount them on a 54g corner tank. The tank is about 19" tall.

Thanks,
L3

I would advise you look into the Tunze nanostreams or those new hydor knockoffs. They are pretty small, produce high flow, and are cheaper than the large tunzes.

Thanks!

Anyone else have any ideas???

did you mean tunze wavebox?you need a longer tank to use it. So go with the nano stream for your tank. Or if you want to have the wave action the tunze multi controler with 2x6000 tunze dial down to 10% to 40%.

Personally i would go with the controllable nano streams with the tunze controller. That way you could alternate the flow from side to side. I dont know why but this seems like it would be really good on a corner tank... Just a thought though....

I agree with Tunze... I run 1x 6000 (1850gph) in my 75g, and a MJ 1200, every thing seems to be fine so far. As much as I may like to add another Tunze I don't think I have room. LOL

2 6000's on multi or 2 single controllers
