What time does your Metal-Halide and Actinics turn on?

Actinics turn on at 8am - 8pm

Metal-Halides turn on at 10am - 6pm

Moonlights from 8pm - 8am.

These times are what Coralife recommends on the Power Center setup instructions.

I go longer (not bragging;) ) so I can enjoy my tank.
I have read numerous posts indicating that 12 hrs of
daylight is OK. Given that and my work schedule I have
actinics come on at 7:30 AM Daylight at 8:45AM twelve hrs,
Daylight off at 8:45PM and actinic off at 10:00PM. Moonlights
from 10:00pm to 7:30AM.
I am curious about the necessity for complete dark. I have
read some posts indicating that some absolute dark is necessary.
My current timer does not allow for that option (moonlight is
all or none opposite actinics) but I would love to hear some
educated opinions.:cool:

Interesting.. thats a long time to have the MH on. Looking foreward to more replies. :)

Oh, I missed the MH part. I have t5's and don't know about
MH. I would think that short of heat it should be fine.

Actinics on at 11 AM off at 9:30 PM.
MH on at noon off at 9 PM.
Moonlights on at 9:30 PM off at 8 AM.

I have 5 sets of lights. Each one has 2 actinics, 1 halide and 4 lunars. I use an Aqua III with direct 8 outlet controls. I like for them to stay on later at night so we can enjoy them so they come on in 15 minute intervals starting at 10:30 am. A simulated sunrise and sunset across the tank.
Actinic 1-5 then Halide 1-5. My lunars were also on an always on so I plugged them into a separate 6 way that is on a timer. They come on 15 minutes after the last actinic goes off and go off at 10:30 am. 16 plugs all together. I also have a single black pin light in the center of the tank. It makes night viewing awesome.

11am - VHO 110w 50/50 comes on
12pm - 250w MH 14k comes on
7pm - VHO 50/50 turns off
8pm - VHO 50/50 turns back on / MH turns off
10pm - VHO 50/50 turns off
12am - VHO actinic turns off

this is my latest lighting schedule.

11:00am - T5 actinics (2x54W) come on, fan turns on
2:00pm - MH (2x400W) come on, refugium light (2x40W PC) turns off
8:00pm - MH turn off, refugium light comes on
11:00pm - T5 actinics turn off, fan turns off
Moonlights & small fan over the refugium are on 24/7

i have an aquapod and my schedule is:

12 pm - 12am: actinics
2 pm - 10 pm: daylights
12 am - 12 pm: moonlight

i would like to have my lights on longer, but i am afraid of breeding too much algae...anyone know if it would?
