Is ABS pipe reef safe?? The reason I am asking is I want to make a spray bar from my return and want to put it on the bottom of the tank. The back panel of the tank is black and the white PVC really sticks out against the black background and I don't like how it looks. So I am asking if it is reef safe or if there is another type of pipe that is black or any other suggestions. Please help.

I just read that someone had spray painted their PVC that was used in the tank and that everything was ok has anyone else done this???

I personally would use unpainted PVC, in a few months it will be purple and there is not much you can do about it.

I agree with this.... I have used ABS to make canister filters, plumbing, etc.

the ABS pipes you can buy at retail are all safe.....there is some ABS stuff for industrial use, but those arent usually sold at retail.....
